Abandoned Northern California silver mine purchased by Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) in A View to a Kill. Situated above the San Andreas Fault, it becomes the nucleus of Project Main Strike, Zorin’s deadly plot to destroy Silicon Valley by creating a massive earthquake. Zorin intends to detonate a mountain of high explosives planted beneath the mine’s principal shaft, thereby creating enough force to not only trigger a quake along the San Andreas Fault but also activate the nearby Hayward Fault as well. The twin killer quakes, timed to strike at the height of spring tide, will drown Silicon Valley under a massive lake.
