(May 8, 1936–December 3, 2013; a.k.a. Richard E. Butler): Top American stuntman who doubled Sean Connery in sections of the fight between Bond and Bambi (Lola Larson) and Thumper (Trina Parks) in Diamonds Are Forever.
In one sequence, Butler is kicked into the metal tubes (actually cardboard) in Willard Whyte’s living room, and in another he’s thrown into the swimming pool. According to writer/director Robert Short, who in 1971 visited Elrod House in Palm Springs, California, where this sequence was filmed, Sean Connery did most of his own stunts and enjoyed every minute of it.
