DISCLAIMER

Contributed by: The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Unusual legal language featured at the beginning of A View to a Kill. It reads, “Neither the name ‘Zorin’ nor any other name or character in this film is meant to portray a real company or actual person.” The message was included because the name of villain Max Zorin’s company, Zorin Industries, was similar to that of a real company, Zoran Ladicorbic Ltd. The real Zoran was a fashion design company, quite different from Max Zorin’s microchip manufacturer, but the legal departments at Eon Productions and United Artists thought it prudent to feature the unusual disclaimer.

Another disclaimer concerning the use of the Red Cross insignia was featured at the beginning of The Living Daylights.
