The helpful mountaineering device that Bond (Sean Connery) uses to gain entrance to the secretive suite of Willard Whyte (Jimmy Dean) at the Whyte House Hotel in Diamonds Are Forever. It fires a spike attached to a wire that allows 007 to swing over to a bathroom window. Inside the suite, he uses the same gun to fire a spike at the forehead of SPECTRE chief Blofeld (Charles Gray)—but it turns out to be a Blofeld clone.
