TAMAHORI, LEE

(April 22, 1950–     ): New Zealand director who helmed the twentieth James Bond movie produced by the Broccoli family, Die Another Day. Tamahori actually began his career as a sound boom operator on the comedy Skin Deep (1978).

Born in Wellington, Tamahori made his feature directorial debut on the crime drama Once Were Warriors (1994). Two years later, he scored with another crime drama, Mulholland Falls (1996), featuring Michael Madsen, whom he later cast in Die Another Day.
