Thermonuclear warheads inserted in the cruise missiles that SPECTRE hijacks in Never Say Never Again. The switch is accomplished when U.S. Air Force Captain Jack Petachi (GAVAN O’HERLIHY) tricks a government security device with an implanted cornea that has been designed to duplicate the eye print of the president of the United States. With “presidential” authorization, the nuclear devices replace the dummy warheads normally used in NATO training exercises.

SPECTRE places one of the hijacked warheads beneath the White House in Washington, D.C. The other is buried in the Tears of Allah archaeological dig in the Middle East, close to a huge oil field. Thanks to James Bond (SEAN CONNERY), both warheads are recovered before they detonate.
