The actual day on which James Bond (SEAN CONNERY) and Kerim Bey (PEDRO ARMENDARIZ) launch their surprise raid on the Russian embassy in Istanbul to steal the Lektor decoding machine. To counter any proposed Russian trap, Bond had previously told defecting Russian cipher clerk Tatiana Romanova (DANIELA BIANCHI) that the raid would take place on the 14th. Unfortunately, SPECTRE is Bond’s true enemy, and they are not fooled.
