ARMORED MOTORBOAT

Contributed by: The Complete James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

James Bond’s (ROGER MOORE) transportation up Brazil’s Tipperapi River in Moonraker. Built by Glastron, the company that had previously manufactured all of the motorboats in Live and Let Die, the armored motorboat had a futuristic design and such defense mechanisms as torpedoes and mines. The weapons come in handy when 007 is attacked by a small flotilla of enemy villains led by the intrepid Jaws (RICHARD KIEL).

Like many of James Bond’s gadgets, the armored motorboat was also convertible. Just as he’s about to go over the falls, Bond pushes a button and triggers a hang glider that propels him within striking distance of Hugo Drax‘s (MICHAEL LONSDALE) jungle space-installation.
