(September 28, 1934–     ): Iconic French sexpot actress who was director Peter Hunt’s first choice for the part of Contessa Tracy di Vicenzo in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Said Hunt, “She would have looked a lot like the Tracy in the book. So Harry Saltzman and I went down to the south of France to see her. We had dinner, twice actually, and she was delightful. But on the second night she informed us that she had just signed a deal to do Shalako with Sean Connery.”[1]

Diana Rigg was eventually signed to play the woman who marries James Bond at the film’s conclusion.
