(December 8, 1953–     ; birth name: Kimila Ann Basinger): Gorgeous American actress and former model who portrayed Domino Petachi, mistress to SPECTRE master spy Maximilian Largo (Klaus Maria Brandauer), in Never Say Never Again. The spectacularly proportioned Basinger was the perfect love interest for Sean Connery, returning as 007 outside Eon Productions’ main Bond series. Unlike Eon’s Bond at the time, Roger Moore, who spent a limited amount of time making love to his leading ladies, Connery in Never Say Never Again is very much attached to Domino in the film’s second half. The steamy highlights include their massage rendezvous in the south of France, their shower in the American nuclear sub, and their hot-tub scene at the film’s conclusion.

Basinger, a native of Athens, Georgia, began her career in television (she scored the Donna Reed role in the 1979 television remake of From Here to Eternity), and made her feature film debut opposite Jan-Michael Vincent and Michael Parks in Hard Country (1981). After her Bond appearance, her career blossomed, with major roles in such high-profile films as The Natural (1984); 9½ Weeks (1986); Batman (1989), as photojournalist Vicki Vale; Robert Altman’s Ready to Wear (1994); 8 Mile (2002), as Eminem’s mother; The Door in the Floor (2004); and The Nice Guys (2016). In 1997, she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in L.A. Confidential.
