British naval base that is the site of war games between the British Secret Service Double-O Section and the Special Air Service (SAS) in The Living Daylights teaser. The mission calls for three skydiving double-O agents—002 (GLYN BAKER), 004 (FREDERICK WARDER), and 007 (TIMOTHY DALTON)—to penetrate the island’s radar station, which is defended by SAS troops. What they don’t know is that an assassin working for arms dealer Brad Whitaker (JOE DON BAKER) and renegade Russian General Georgi Koskov (JEROEN KRABBÉ) has already penetrated the base security.

After 002 is captured by the SAS, the assassin kills 004 by cutting his climbing rope. Planting a tag that says “Smiert Spionam” (“Death to Spies”) on his body, the assassin makes his escape in a stolen Land Rover. Having found 004’s body and the body of a murdered SAS soldier, Bond goes after their killer— eventually jumping on top of the Land Rover as it speeds down the mountainside. A vicious fight in the cab ensues until Bond gets the upper hand.

As the Land Rover smashes its way over a cliff, Bond instantly pulls the rip cord on his parachute and is shunted out of the quickly descending vehicle, which explodes as it hits the rocky shore. His parachute on fire, Bond lands carefully on the deck of a luxury yacht where Linda (KELL TYLER) is bemoaning the lack of good men in her life.

Introducing himself as “Bond. James Bond,” 007 grabs the portable phone, takes the offered glass of wine, calls the office, and says he’ll be back in an hour. Staring at Linda’s inviting figure, he then corrects himself and says, “Make it two.”
