Code name for turncoat British agent Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean) in GoldenEye. It’s rumored that Trevelyan/Janus lives on a converted Soviet missile train, but no one has ever seen him. His alias is an appropriate one, since Janus is the name of the Roman god with two faces. It’s also the name given to Trevelyan’s crime syndicate, which is behind a plot to destroy England’s economy by setting off a destructive electromagnetic pulse from a Russian space satellite. Specializing in arms trading, the syndicate was the first outfit to supply the Iraqis during the original Gulf War.
