(December 18, 1914–1992): Indian British character actor who portrayed Lazar, the Portuguese gunsmith who manufactures golden bullets for Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) in The Man with the Golden Gun.

Born in Calcutta, Maitland made his big-screen debut in director David MacDonald’s crime drama Cairo Road (1950), which also featured future Bond players Eric Pohlmann (the voice of Blofeld in From Russia with Love and Thunderball) and Walter Gotell.
