MCRAE, FRANK

(June 3, 1942–     ): American character actor and former professional football player who portrayed Sharkey, fisherman friend to Felix Leiter (David Hedison) in Licence to Kill.

Born in Memphis, McRae had a brief career in the National Football League, playing six games for the Chicago Bears at defensive tackle. He made his credited motion picture debut as Osiat in director John Guillermin’s Shaft in Africa (1973). McRae’s other feature film credits include Dillinger (1973); Hard Times (1975); Walking Tall Part II (1975), with fellow Bond veteran Bruce Glover; Big Wednesday (1978); Paradise Alley (1978); Norma Rae (1979); Rocky II (1979); 1941 (1979), as Private Ogden Johnson Jones, one of Dan Aykroyd’s fellow tank crewman; 48 Hours (1982); National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983); Red Dawn (1984), as Mr. Teasdale, the schoolteacher; and Last Action Hero (1993).
