(November 22, 1965–     ): Accomplished Danish actor who portrayed investment specialist, gambler, and SPECTRE agent Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. He is one of the best villains in the Bond series, bringing a sense of quiet menace to the role.

A native of Copenhagen, Mikkelsen made his feature film debut as Tonny in director Nicolas Winding Refn’s Danish crime thriller Pusher (1996). More recently, Mikkelsen played the key role of Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). He also portrayed the iconic Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the TV series Hannibal (39 episodes, 2013–2015).
