(March 13, 1923–April 4, 1976; birth name: Nino Pastellides): Cyprus-born Greek actor who portrayed the resourceful train conductor in From Russia with Love. It is his urgent voice, calling “Mr. Somerset, Mr. Somerset,” that first alerts Bond (Sean Connery) to trouble on the Orient Express.
Using his birth name, Pastell made his credited feature film debut in director Edward Dmytryk’s drama Give Us This Day (1949).
