PISTOR, LUDGER

German character actor who portrayed Mendel, the representative of Switzerland’s Basel Bank, in Casino Royale (2006).

Born in Recklinghausen, Pistor made his motion picture debut as one of the monks in director Jean-Jacques Annaud’s medieval crime drama The Name of the Rose (1986), which starred fellow Bond players Sean Connery, Michael Lonsdale (Moonraker), and Vernon Dobtcheff (The Spy Who Loved Me).
