Tafler, a London native, made his uncredited motion picture debut as an RAF officer in director Anthony Asquith’s wartime comedy thriller Bombsight Stolen (1941). His first credited big-screen role was playing Morry Hyams in director Robert Hamer’s crime drama, It Always Rains on Sunday (1947).
