Tough Harlem drug kingpin portrayed by Yaphet Kotto in Live and Let Die. Mr. Big is actually the sinister Dr. Kananga, a diplomat and drug smuggler from the mythical Caribbean island of San Monique. The Mr. Big disguise allows Kananga to maintain a disciplined crime syndicate in the States while performing the sensitive duties of a UN diplomat in New York City. Moving between the two identities can be difficult, so Kananga employs a number of hideouts, secret passageways, and electronic ruses that confuse CIA surveillance teams.
