FORSTER, MARC

(November 30, 1969–     ): German-born director, writer, and producer who directed Quantum of Solace.

A native of Illertissen, Bavaria, Forster’s breakout feature as a director was the romantic drama Monster’s Ball (2001), which netted Bond actress Halle Berry (Die Another Day) a Best Actress Oscar. His follow-up feature was Finding Neverland (2004), about the life of Peter Pan creator J. M. Barrie. Forster’s additional directorial credits include The Kite Runner (2007), Machine Gun Preacher (2011), World War Z (2013), and Christopher Robin (2018).

He was the first non-Commonwealth director to helm an Eon Productions Bond film.
