“HE DISAGREED WITH SOMETHING THAT ATE HIM”

Message on a crumpled piece of paper that is stuffed into the mouth of Felix Leiter (David Hedison) after Bond’s CIA friend is thrown to the sharks in Licence to Kill. It actually mirrors an incident that occurs in author Ian Fleming’s novel Live and Let Die. In both cases, Leiter survives but is maimed; in the film he loses his left leg below the knee.
