(Liverpool, England, January 19, 1922—April 28, 2001) British film director who codirected the 1967 Casino Royale spoof with John Huston, Val Guest, Robert Parrish, and Joseph McGrath. He was responsible for the surreal Mata Bond (JOANNA PETTET) sequence in West Berlin.
