KERR, DEBORAH

(Helensburg, Scotland, September 30, 1921—Oct 16, 2007) (real name, Deborah Kerr-Trimmer) Scottish leading lady who portrayed the completely wacky Mimi, an enemy agent posing as M‘s (JOHN HUSTON) widow, in the 1967 Casino Royale spoof. Actually, it’s very difficult to understand a word she says in the film as she prances around a Scottish manor house, dancing to bagpipes, spouting historical sayings, and referring constantly to the mystical piper who always comes to play once a McTarry dies (McTarry was M’s real name). Definitely the most unusual performance of Kerr’s illustrious career.
