ST. PETERSBURG

Northwest Russian city, formerly known as Leningrad, that served as a primary filming location for GoldenEye in the spring of 1995. Located on the east end of the Gulf of Finland, the city hosted a full second unit crew, which captured backgrounds to blend with exterior sets built on the Rolls-Royce factory complex in Hertfordshire, England. These scenes included the destructive chase between a fleeing General Ourumov (Gottfried John) and Bond (Pierce Brosnan), piloting a captured Russian battle tank.
