(April 26, 1916–September 1, 2013): Former Royal Air Force officer who designed, built, and flew Little Nellie, the autogyro that James Bond (Sean Connery) flies in You Only Live Twice. A native of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England, who served as a bomber pilot in World War II, Wallis reached the rank of wing commander and was later appointed a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
