Semiautomatic pistol that is famously James Bond’s weapon of choice in the 007 film series. In Dr. No, Bond (Sean Connery) originally prefers his Beretta 418, but MI6 armorer Major Boothroyd (Peter Burton) recommends the 7.65mm PPK for its superior stopping power. After M (Bernard Lee) orders Bond to make the switch, 007 quickly takes to the Walther, and continues to wield it through nearly all of his subsequent adventures.
In the Pierce Brosnan era, Bond trades his PPK for a Walther P99, a 9mm semiautomatic handgun that carries a fifteen-round magazine. He originally picks it up in the apartment of Colonel Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) in Tomorrow Never Dies, and hangs on to it through the rest of the film as well as the two that follow, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day. The classic PPK returns to service in the Daniel Craig films.
