GoldenEye

GoldenEye, released in 1995 and Eon Productions 17^th Bond film, pits a former MI6 agent 006 – Alec Trevelyan, against Bond and the world. Of course, Alec has help with his cohort, Xenia Onatopp – a skilled assassin. There is this space weapon, named GoldenEye, that must be dealt with before the Russian syndicate uses it to threaten the world.

There are reasons Trevelyan wants revenge on the Britain for betraying his parents. This is a solid movie, with great action, beautiful women like Natalya of course, and interesting characters like Boris Grishenko, a programmer.

Pierce Brosnan is the new James Bond and will star in a total of 4 Bond movies – this perhaps his best.

Casino Royale (2006)

Casino Royale, editorial content, 007, James Bond, spy movie podcasts, EON Production movies, espionage, Daniel Craig Casino Royale, released in 2006 by Eon Productions, it’s 21^st Bond film, rebooted the series with another new James Bond, Daniel Craig, now earning his 00 status here. The script sticks closely to the Ian Fleming novel and is a masterpiece of suspense involving big-stakes Casino gambling at Casino Royale in Montenegro., Le Chifre, a terrorist money manager, who is trying to recoup money he was to invest for war lords in Uganga, Vesper Lynd – Bond’s love interest, we meet Mr. White, Rene Mathis and others along the way. And a big ending.

Often rated one of the best James Bond movies ever, Casino Royale (2006) takes us all over the globe from Prague, Uganda, Madagascar the Bahamas and more.

A View to a Kill

This 1985 installment of the James Bond series was the last helmed by Roger Moore.

Once again we are treated to a megalomaniac, Max Zorin (Christopher Walken). This time, instead of wanting to destroy the world, he wants to corner the burgeoning important microchip industry. He will need to destroy Silicon Valley in California in order to achieve success.

Zorin’s henchwoman, May Day, is played by Grace Jones who has a very impressive wardrobe. May Day has an impressive escape from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Zorin needs to buy an oil business from Stacy Sutton (Tanya Roberts) who is also a geologist. She helps Bond in figuring out Zorin’s plot.

Octopussy

Octopussy was the 1983 installment of the James Bond series, starring Roger Moore as Bond.

An agent dies with a Fabergé egg which leads to an operation to unearth Octopussy’s (Maud Adams) smuggling operation. This operation was a cover for a planned nuclear attack.

Louis Jourdan gives a strong performance as Kamal Khan, the lead villain in the movie. Khan is supported by his henchman Gobinda (Kabir Bedi). The soviet contingent is lead by Orlov (Steven Berkoff).

Much of this movie was filmed in India, bringing the Bond audience to another exotic location. The pretitle scene with Bond flying a micro-jet were filmed in Utah in the US.

For Your Eyes Only

For Your Eyes Only was the James Bond movie released in 1981. It stars Roger Moore, returning in the role of James Bond.

James Bond needs to find a device called Automatic Targeting Attack Communicator (ATAC) which was in a submarine that had sunk. The soviets find out about the missing ATAC so a race to find it ensues.

Bond must also deal with a man named Milos Columbo and one named Kristatos. One of these men is an ally and one is the enemy. James Bond must figure out who is the ally as he isn’t sure for a while in the movie.

From Russia With Love is the 5th Ian Fleming James Bond 007 novel (1957), 2nd EON Productions James Bond 007 film (1963).
