Jamaican band, discovered by composer Monty Norman, that performed as the house band at the hotel in Jamaica in Dr. No. Led by Chinese Jamaican musician Byron Lee, the band also contributed three songs to the film’s soundtrack—“Under the Mango Tree,” “Jump Up,” and the calypso version of “Three Blind Mice”—though the solo guitar work on their songs was provided by Ernest Ranglin.

Lee died of cancer at seventy-three on November 4, 2008.
