CIRCUS CIRCUS

Colorful, raucous Las Vegas hotel and casino chosen by Bond (Sean Connery) for his rendezvous with Tiffany Case (Jill St. John) in Diamonds Are Forever. Tipped off by Bond, Felix Leiter (Norman Burton) fills the place with radio-equipped CIA agents who monitor Tiffany’s every move.

Circus Circus is known for it high-wire acts and many carnival games designed for young tourists left to wait while their parents gamble. The film features a virtual guided tour of the casino circa the early 1970s, including stops at the blackjack table, where Tiffany receives a card that reads “Why don’t you play the water balloons?”; the water balloon game, where she wins a stuffed animal filled with diamonds; and the sideshow attraction featuring Zambora, a woman who transforms into a huge rampaging gorilla—after which Tiffany escapes from Bond and his CIA associates.
