GOODNIGHT, MARY

Entry Source: The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Far Eastern liaison and in-between lover to James Bond (Roger Moore) portrayed by Swedish beauty Britt Ekland in The Man with the Golden Gun. Having been assigned to staff intelligence for two years, Mary feels qualified to give Bond an assist on his present assignment. Unfortunately, the lovely British agent spends most of her time sleeping in closets, while Bond makes love to the mysterious Andrea Anders (Maud Adams).

Although quite the bumbler, Goodnight’s ability to get herself locked in the trunk of a flying car belonging to Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) actually helps Bond track the dangerous assassin to his private island off the coast of China. There she is completely helpless to prevent the duel of the century—Bond’s Walther PPK versus Scaramanga’s golden gun.
