James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) meets her in Cuba when she comes out of the water in an eye-popping orange bikini, an obvious nod to Ursula Andress’s entrance in Dr. No. After a passionate tryst, 007 follows Jinx to a gene therapy clinic, where he discovers and tries to kill his North Korean nemesis Zao (Rick Yune), who is undergoing facial restructuring.

On the trail of suspicious billionaire Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens), Bond reunites with Jinx in Iceland, where Graves is demonstrating his Icarus orbital mirror satellite laser. When Jinx is captured and nearly tortured to death with mobile lasers, 007 rescues her, then leads Zao on a wild chase across an icy escarpment to rescue her a second time when she’s trapped in Graves’s disintegrating Ice Palace. They both later stow away on Graves’s cargo plane headed for Korea, where Jinx eventually does battle with Graves’s duplicitous associate Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike).
