MADAGASCAR

Contributed by: The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Island off East Africa where Bond (Daniel Craig) tracks Mollaka (Sébastien Foucan), a terrorist bomb maker, in Casino Royale. He’s introduced at an outdoor fighting competition between a cobra and a mongoose, surrounded by bettors. This is followed by an extraordinary foot chase through a construction site, employing the latest parkour moves. All of this was actually shot in the Bahamas on an abandoned hotel site at Coral Harbour.

The same site was used to film hotel rooms for Thunderball and as a camera platform for Derek Meddings’s special effects crew on The Spy Who Loved Me.
