(June 25, 1945–     ): Soulful pop singer-songwriter and Academy Award winner who sang one of the best James Bond theme songs, “Nobody Does It Better” from The Spy Who Loved Me. A native New Yorker who spawned decades of speculation with her number-one hit “You’re So Vain,” Simon made her feature film singing debut on director Milos Forman’s musical comedy Taking Off (1971), which also featured future Bond player Vincent Schiavelli (Tomorrow Never Dies).

Simon later won the Oscar for Best Original Song for the song “Let the River Run” from Working Girl (1988).
