STAGE D

Contributed by: The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Pinewood Studios soundstage where production designer Ken Adam created the Fontainebleau Hotel cabana area where Dink (Margaret Nolan) massages James Bond (Sean Connery) in Goldfinger. Designed to match exteriors shot on location in Miami Beach, the set was also used for close-ups of the gin game between Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and Mr. Simmons (Austin Willis), as well as the arrival of Felix Leiter (Cec Linder).  Fifty-five extras were on hand for the shooting, which took place on Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, 1964.

Stage D also became the El Scorpio nightclub for the pre-credits teaser of Goldfinger.
