North African city where arms dealer Brad Whitaker (Joe Don Baker) maintains his base of operations in The Living Daylights. It’s where Bond (Timothy Dalton) fakes an assassination of KGB Chief General Leonid Pushkin (John Rhys-Davies)— a ploy to expose the real plot of Whitaker and renegade Russian general Koskov (Jeroen Krabbé). It works, although Bond is drugged, captured, and placed aboard a military air transport headed for Afghanistan.
Agent 007 returns to Tangier in Spectre, as Bond (Daniel Craig) and Dr. Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) visit the city’s L’Américain hotel, where Swann’s father, Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), kept a secret room.
