Wisecracking Las Vegas lounge entertainer and smuggler portrayed by Leonard Barr in Diamonds Are Forever. He’s the leader of a lounge act called Shady Tree and His Acorns, the latter being two showgirls. The withered old Tree saves Bond (Sean Connery) from a roasting in the crematorium at the Slumber Inc. mortuary when he demands to know what happened to the “real” diamonds. Later, while sequestered in his dressing room backstage at the Whyte House, Tree is assassinated by Blofeld’s thugs Mr. Wint (Bruce Glover) and Mr. Kidd (Putter Smith).
