MATA HARI DANCE AND SPY SCHOOL

Contributed by: The Complete James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Fictional spy school, located on Feldmanstrasse in West Berlin, founded by the famous World War I spy and featured in the 1967 spoof Casino Royale. Its cover is International Mother’s Help, which supplies baby-sitters and au pair girls to the best families in Europe. According to its present owner, Frau Hoffner (ANNA QUAYLE), it’s the only truly international school of espionage in the world with no political prejudices.

Mata Bond (JOANNA PETTET) is sent there by her father, Sir James Bond (DAVID NIVEN), to learn all she can about Le Chiffre‘s (ORSON WELLES) organization. Through the diminutive Polo (RONNIE CORBETT), she learns about an auction of compromising military photographs being held to raise currency for Le Chiffre’s betting activities in Monte Carlo.
