A Russian nuclear submarine swallowed by the Liparus supertanker in The Spy Who Loved Me. Its Soviet crew replaced by enemy submariners, the sub becomes a pawn in the plot by Karl Stromberg (Curt Jurgens) to destroy the world. Fortunately, Bond (Roger Moore) short-circuits the plot, and the Potemkin is blown apart before it can accomplish its mission.
