REGIN, NADJA

(December 2, 1931–April 6, 2019; birth name: Nadezda Poderegin): Yugoslavian actress who appeared in two James Bond films, first as the ravishing girlfriend of Kerim Bey (Pedro Armendariz) in From Russia with Love, then as Bonita, the fiery flamenco dancer in the pre-credits teaser of Goldfinger.

A native of Nis, Serbia, Regin made her motion picture debut in The Factory Story (1949), a Yugoslavian film directed by Vladimir Pogacic. Nine years later, she made her English-language film debut as Odette Vernet in the sci-fi horror film The Man Without a Body (1957). She later retired from acting after appearing in two episodes of the BBC’s Comedy Playhouse (1967–1968).
