Contributed by: The Complete James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Redesignation of the British and Russian nuclear submarines captured by Stromberg‘s (CURT JURGENS) Liparus supertanker in The Spy Who Loved Me. Operated by enemy submariners, the two vessels are sent into the mid-Atlantic on a mission to launch two Polaris missiles and initiate World War III.

However, before they can launch their missiles, Bond (ROGER MOORE), using the Liparus’s command computer, alters their planned trajectory so that instead of destroying a major city in the United States and Russia, they blow up Stromberg No. 1 and No. 2. How neat can you get?
