Determined to frame James Bond (ROGER MOORE) and Stacey Sutton (TANYA ROBERTS) for murder, Max Zorin (CHRISTOPHER WALKEN) shoots Howe, sets his office on fire, and traps Bond and Stacey in a City Hall elevator shaft. He then drops a Molotov cocktail onto their elevator car, setting it ablaze. Bond and Stacey survive and eventually make their escape in a San Francisco Fire Department hook-and-ladder truck.
