Enemy hang gliders that convert into deadly snowmobiles in The World Is Not Enough. A squadron of them, organized by Renard (Robert Carlyle), attack Bond and Elektra (Sophie Marceau) on the ski slopes not far from her Azerbaijan oil pipeline. But Bond takes them out in one of the film’s more predictable set pieces.

These air attack sequences haven’t really worked since Sean Connery easily disposed of a fleet of killer helicopters during You Only Live Twice way back in 1967. Enough with the machine guns and the grenades. They never hit anyone anyway.
