SHIANIVAS HOTEL

James Bond’s (ROGER MOORE) typically lavish hotel in Udaipur, India, in Octopussy. He’s in Room 27. It’s connected to Kamal Khan‘s (LOUIS JOURDAN) casino, where 007 challenges the exiled Afghan prince to a spirited game of backgammon.

It’s also the arena of seduction for lithesome Magda (KRISTINA WAYBORN), who dines with Bond, then joins him for a night of passion in his hotel room. Sequestered in bed and drinking from a “loving cup,” Bond notices the tiny octopus tattoo on Magda’s buttock. “That’s my little Octopussy,” she explains, prompting one of Roger Moore’s patented double takes.

At dawn, Magda dresses, steals the Fabergé egg, kisses 007 good-bye, and makes her way to the balcony, where she ties off her wraparound sari and glides to the pavement. Bond waves good-bye to Kamal, who is waiting for her, then returns to his bedroom, only to be knocked unconscious by Gobinda (KABIR BEDI). What Kamal doesn’t know is that 007 has planted a tiny listening bug inside the egg.
