The advance given to arms dealer Brad Whitaker (JOE DON BAKER) by the KGB for a huge shipment of high-tech weapons in The Living Daylights. Instead of fulfilling, Whitaker and his partner, renegade Russian General Georgi Koskov (JEROEN KRABBE), convert the money into diamonds and plan a huge freelance drug deal with the Snow Leopard Brotherhood of Afghanistan.

Once they get their hands on the drugs, Koskov and Whitaker can make a huge profit and still have enough money to provide the Soviets with their arms. The diamonds-for opium deal will take place as soon as the British Secret Service assassinates Russian General Leonid Pushkin (JOHN RHYS-DAVIES), who has canceled his country’s high-tech arms order and demands an immediate refund of the money.
