Detective hired by the French Jockey Club to look into the possibility that Max Zorin (CHRISTOPHER WALKEN) may be involved in a horse-fixing scheme in A View to a Kill. Meeting James Bond (ROGER MOORE) for lunch in the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, Aubergine (JEAN ROUGERIE) tells Bond that drug tests on Zorin’s horses have come up negative. He plans to continue his investigation at Zorin’s annual horse sale at his stud farm near Paris. Before Aubergine can continue, however, he’s struck in the side of the face by a poisonous-barb-carrying butterfly dangled on a puppeteer’s line by the murderous May Day (GRACE JONES), who escapes James Bond’s clutches by diving off the Eiffel Tower and parachuting to safety.
