MELLINGER, MICHAEL

(May 30, 1929–March 17, 2004): German character actor of stage and screen, a longtime resident of Britain, who portrayed Kisch, an associate of Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) who poisons the “hoods convention” and locks Bond (Sean Connery) to the A-bomb in Fort Knox by his wrist.

Born in Kochel, Bavaria, Mellinger made his credited motion picture debut in director Jack Lee’s crime adventure The Golden Mask (1953), working with future Bond players Marne Maitland and George Pastell.
