BARRELHEAD BAR

Contributed by: The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia by Steven Jay Rubin

Seedy watering hole on the Bahamian island of Bimini where Bond (Timothy Dalton) meets undercover CIA operative Pam Bouvier (Carey Lowell) in Licence to Kill.

Equipped with a formidable Mossberg “Rogue” shotgun, Pam is observing the activities of some drug runners employed by Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi) when she’s joined by Bond. After Sanchez’s henchman Dario (Benicio Del Toro) joins the party, a brawl breaks out, with Bouvier and Bond putting on a good show until Pam blasts a hole in the barroom wall so they can escape. Dario shoots Pam in the back as they flee, but she survives, thanks to some body armor.

The Barrelhead Bar was actually an interior designed by Peter Lamont and filmed at Churubusco Studios in Mexico City. The exterior where Bond’s motorboat arrives at the dock was filmed at the Harbor Lights Bar in Key West, Florida.
