Sinister millionaire tycoon who is working for the Russians in For Your Eyes Only. At first he introduces himself to Bond (Roger Moore) in Cortina, Italy, as an enthusiastic Anglophile who was a resistance fighter during World War II and won the King’s Medal for his gallantry. He is also acting as patron to a young Olympic ice-skating hopeful (Lynn-Holly Johnson). He even tells Bond to watch out for Milos Columbo (Topol), a man he claims is a drug smuggler, sex trafficker, and contract murderer.

In reality, it’s Kristatos who’s a heroin smuggler and a top Russian agent charged with salvaging the ATAC device from the hulk of the sunken St. Georges surveillance vessel. On several occasions, his henchmen Locque (Michael Gothard) and Kriegler (John Wyman) try to kill Bond. Kristatos is also involved in a blood feud with Columbo, whom he betrayed during World War II while working as a double agent for the Nazis.

Kristatos eventually retrieves the ATAC from Bond, tries to kill him and Melina Havelock (Carole Bouquet) by keelhauling the pair, and later retreats to his aerie atop the Meteora cliff in Greece. In the film’s finale, Bond assaults Meteora and Columbo kills Kristatos.
